About the Practitioner

The Zen Rooms

The Zen Rooms

The Zen Rooms is a holistic wellbeing platform created to bring people, practitioners and supportive resources together in one welcoming and accessible space. It was founded by Neil Perry-Timson from a belief that exploring wellbeing and spiritual development should feel inclusive, down-to-earth and personal—not confusing, intimidating or out of reach.

At the heart of The Zen Rooms is connection. The platform helps people across the UK discover holistic practitioners, explore the services they offer and find classes, workshops and events that meet their individual needs. Practitioners can share their experience, promote their work and connect with people who are genuinely looking for support, creating a growing network of like-minded individuals and wellbeing professionals.

The Zen Rooms also provides an online community where members can learn, share experiences, ask questions and connect with others on a similar journey. Courses, articles, podcasts and practical resources introduce subjects such as yoga, meditation, mindfulness, Reiki, sound healing and spiritual development, supporting everyone from complete beginners to those wishing to deepen an existing practice. A carefully selected shop also brings together products designed to complement relaxation, self-care and holistic living.

Alongside the online platform, Neil offers his own Reiki, yoga, meditation, sound healing and spiritual development sessions, together with local events and workshops in Nottinghamshire.

More than simply a directory or events website, The Zen Rooms is being developed as a supportive holistic hub—a place where people can pause, explore new possibilities, find meaningful support and take the next step in their wellbeing journey at a pace that feels right for them.

Good to know

Good to know

Please wear comfortable clothing and bring anything you may need to help you feel settled during the day, such as a bottle of water, reading glasses or a notebook.

You do not need to prepare for your Reiki attunement in any complicated way. It can be helpful to arrive well rested, avoid rushing immediately beforehand and give yourself a little quiet time after the session if possible.

The training may include seated practice, meditation, discussion and practical Reiki work. Where reasonably possible, activities can be adapted to suit mobility, sensory, learning or accessibility needs, so please let me know in advance if there is anything that would help you feel more comfortable.

You may wish to bring a light lunch or snacks if your training runs across several hours. Full information about timings, breaks, refreshments and anything specific to bring will be confirmed before your session.

After your attunement, you will be encouraged to continue with regular self-Reiki and to give yourself time to reflect on the experience. There is no need to force a particular response or sensation; everyone experiences Reiki differently.

Suitable for

Suitable for people who feel drawn to learning Reiki for their own wellbeing, spiritual development or as part of a future professional practice. The appropriate Reiki level will depend on your previous training and experience.

For Reiki First Degree, no previous Reiki training is normally required. Higher levels require completion of the preceding level.

Frequently Asked Questions

+ What is a Reiki attunement?

A Reiki attunement is part of the traditional process of learning Reiki. It is given by a Reiki Master/Teacher as part of your training and marks your introduction to, or progression through, a particular level of Reiki practice.

The attunement is only one part of the experience. Your training also includes teaching, practical Reiki work, discussion and guidance to help you develop confidence in your own practice.

+ Which Reiki level should I start with?

If you have never been attuned to Reiki before, you would normally begin with Reiki First Degree (Reiki 1).

This level focuses particularly on understanding Reiki, experiencing the practice and learning to use Reiki for yourself and with friends or family.

Later levels build upon this foundation, so previous Reiki training will normally be required before progressing.
