About the Practitioner

The Zen Rooms

The Zen Rooms

The Zen Rooms is a holistic wellbeing platform created to bring people, practitioners and supportive resources together in one welcoming and accessible space. It was founded by Neil Perry-Timson from a belief that exploring wellbeing and spiritual development should feel inclusive, down-to-earth and personal—not confusing, intimidating or out of reach.

At the heart of The Zen Rooms is connection. The platform helps people across the UK discover holistic practitioners, explore the services they offer and find classes, workshops and events that meet their individual needs. Practitioners can share their experience, promote their work and connect with people who are genuinely looking for support, creating a growing network of like-minded individuals and wellbeing professionals.

The Zen Rooms also provides an online community where members can learn, share experiences, ask questions and connect with others on a similar journey. Courses, articles, podcasts and practical resources introduce subjects such as yoga, meditation, mindfulness, Reiki, sound healing and spiritual development, supporting everyone from complete beginners to those wishing to deepen an existing practice. A carefully selected shop also brings together products designed to complement relaxation, self-care and holistic living.

Alongside the online platform, Neil offers his own Reiki, yoga, meditation, sound healing and spiritual development sessions, together with local events and workshops in Nottinghamshire.

More than simply a directory or events website, The Zen Rooms is being developed as a supportive holistic hub—a place where people can pause, explore new possibilities, find meaningful support and take the next step in their wellbeing journey at a pace that feels right for them.

Good to know

Good to know

Please let me know before your consultation if you have any known allergies, skin sensitivities, asthma, epilepsy, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or take regular medication. This helps ensure that any essential oils discussed are appropriate for you and that relevant safety considerations can be taken into account.

If your consultation is face to face, it is best to avoid wearing strong perfume or heavily fragranced products beforehand, as these can make it harder to properly smell and compare different essential oils.

You may find it helpful to think in advance about what you would like support with, for example relaxation, sleep, stress, focus or general wellbeing, although you do not need to arrive with a clear plan.

For online consultations, samples can be posted where appropriate so you can experience the oils before making final choices. Any postage, packaging or additional product costs will be discussed with you in advance.

Frequently Asked Questions

+ What happens during an aromatherapy consultation?

We will talk about what you would like support with, your lifestyle, fragrance preferences and any relevant health or safety considerations. From there, we can explore suitable essential oils and practical ways you might use them as part of your wellbeing routine.

+ Will I receive a personalised blend?

Where appropriate, we can discuss personalised blends and recommendations based on your preferences and needs. Any products, blends or additional costs would be explained clearly before you decide whether you would like them.

+ Can the consultation take place online?

Yes. Aromatherapy consultations can be offered online, and we can still explore oils based on their recognised therapeutic properties and how these may relate to your individual needs.

The main limitation of an online consultation is that you will not be able to smell the oils during the appointment and make choices based on your own fragrance preferences. Ideally, we would work face to face so you can experience and compare different oils before deciding which ones you prefer.

A blended approach can also work really well. We can have the initial consultation online, where I gather the relevant information and identify which oils may be suitable to suggest. We can then meet face to face so you can smell and compare those oils before making your final choices.

If an in-person appointment is not practical, samples can also be posted to you so you can experience selected oils at home. Postage and packaging costs may apply, but these will always be discussed and agreed with you in advance.

+ Is aromatherapy suitable if I have a medical condition or take medication?

Please mention any relevant medical conditions, allergies, sensitivities, pregnancy or medication before using essential oils. Aromatherapy is complementary and should not replace medical advice or treatment from an appropriately qualified healthcare professional.

+ What information will you need from me during the consultation?

I will ask about what you would like support with, your general wellbeing, lifestyle, fragrance preferences and any relevant health information such as allergies, sensitivities, pregnancy or medication.

This helps me to identify which essential oils may be appropriate for you and which oils should be avoided. The consultation is relaxed and conversational, and you will always have the opportunity to ask questions or discuss any concerns before recommendations are made.
