About the Organiser

The Zen Rooms

The Zen Rooms

I’m Neil Perry-Timson, a Reiki teacher, yoga instructor and holistic wellbeing practitioner, as well as the founder of The Zen Rooms and Zen Community Hub.

I created The Zen Rooms to provide a welcoming place where people can discover trusted practitioners, services, events and supportive resources to help them explore holistic wellbeing and personal development. I later founded Zen Community Hub to make wellbeing activities more accessible within local communities, particularly for people who may feel isolated, overwhelmed or unable to access traditional support.

Through my own work, I offer Reiki, yoga, meditation, sound healing, spiritual development and a range of relaxing wellbeing experiences. My approach is warm, inclusive and down-to-earth. I aim to create calm, supportive spaces where people can feel comfortable, connect with others, build confidence and explore practices that support their physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing at a pace that feels right for them.

Frequently Asked Questions

What should I bring?

I have 12 comfortable yoga mattresses available on a first-come, first-served basis. Please bring a blanket, cushion and anything else that helps you feel warm and comfortable. You are welcome to bring your own mat or additional supports.

What makes these different from the first-Wednesday Sound Baths?

The first-Wednesday sessions follow a year-round emotional wellbeing journey. The third-Wednesday sessions are monthly specials, combining the Sound Bath with a different additional experience such as Reiki, cacao, crystals, aromatherapy or shamanic drumming. The individual Event date will tell you exactly what is included that month.

Do I need experience of Reiki, cacao ceremonies, crystals or other holistic practices?

No. Each session is designed to be accessible to complete beginners. I will explain anything you need to know at the beginning, and there is never any pressure to take part in an element that does not feel right for you.

What happens during the Sound Bath?

Most people choose to lie down, although you are equally welcome to sit comfortably. Once settled, you can simply listen and experience the sounds, vibrations and periods of stillness. Some monthly specials may also include another experience before or during the Sound Bath.

What if the session includes cacao, aromatherapy or another optional sensory element?

The individual date information will explain what is being used. Please contact me before booking if you have allergies, sensitivities, medical considerations or would prefer not to take part in a particular element. Where practical, I will offer an alternative or allow you to opt out while still enjoying the rest of the session.

Is a Sound Bath suitable for everyone?

Sound Baths are generally gentle, but please contact me before booking if you have epilepsy or seizures that can be triggered by sound, significant sound sensitivity or tinnitus, a pacemaker or other implanted electronic device, are pregnant, have recently had surgery, or are experiencing a severe or unstable mental-health crisis. If you are unsure whether a particular monthly special is suitable for you, please ask before booking.

What should I do afterwards?

Give yourself a few minutes to return fully to normal awareness. Sit up slowly, have some water and take your time before leaving. Please make sure you feel fully alert and steady before driving home.
