About the Organiser

The Zen Rooms

The Zen Rooms

I’m Neil Perry-Timson, a Reiki teacher, yoga instructor and holistic wellbeing practitioner, as well as the founder of The Zen Rooms and Zen Community Hub.

I created The Zen Rooms to provide a welcoming place where people can discover trusted practitioners, services, events and supportive resources to help them explore holistic wellbeing and personal development. I later founded Zen Community Hub to make wellbeing activities more accessible within local communities, particularly for people who may feel isolated, overwhelmed or unable to access traditional support.

Through my own work, I offer Reiki, yoga, meditation, sound healing, spiritual development and a range of relaxing wellbeing experiences. My approach is warm, inclusive and down-to-earth. I aim to create calm, supportive spaces where people can feel comfortable, connect with others, build confidence and explore practices that support their physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing at a pace that feels right for them.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to be attuned to Reiki to attend?

No. The sessions are open to people who are already Reiki practitioners and to anyone who is genuinely curious about Reiki and would like to experience the atmosphere of a Reiki Share before deciding whether they would like to learn more.

If you are not attuned, you can still take part in the discussions, relaxation and appropriate group activities, and you can experience receiving Reiki from practitioners in the group.

I am already attuned to Reiki. What will I get from a Reiki Share?

A Reiki Share gives you regular time to practise. You can give and receive Reiki, build confidence, discuss experiences, ask questions and learn alongside other practitioners. It is particularly useful if you do not get many opportunities to practise treatments between courses or with other Reiki practitioners.

Do I need to have learned Reiki with Neil?

No. You are very welcome whether you trained with me or with another Reiki Master or tradition. The emphasis is on respectful shared learning rather than everyone having to practise in exactly the same way.

I am thinking about learning Reiki. Is this a good place to start?

Yes. It is a relaxed way to meet me as a Reiki Master/Teacher, experience the environment I teach in and get a feel for my approach before deciding whether Reiki training is right for you. You are welcome to ask questions about Reiki and the training process during the session.

What does spiritual development mean in these sessions?

Each month we explore an additional theme that can complement Reiki practice and personal energy awareness. This might include crystals, grounding, aura cleansing, energy protection, intuition or other gentle spiritual and wellbeing practices.

You do not need any previous experience of these subjects, and you are never required to adopt a particular belief system.

What happens during the Reiki Share?

The exact format can vary depending on the group and monthly theme. There will usually be some discussion or practical learning followed by an opportunity to give and receive Reiki. Depending on numbers, this may involve working in pairs, small groups or several practitioners sharing Reiki with one person.

Is Reiki a medical treatment?

Reiki is a complementary wellbeing practice and should not be used as a replacement for medical or psychological treatment. If you have a health concern, please continue to seek appropriate professional healthcare.
