About the Organiser

The Zen Rooms

The Zen Rooms

I’m Neil Perry-Timson, a Reiki teacher, yoga instructor and holistic wellbeing practitioner, as well as the founder of The Zen Rooms and Zen Community Hub.

I created The Zen Rooms to provide a welcoming place where people can discover trusted practitioners, services, events and supportive resources to help them explore holistic wellbeing and personal development. I later founded Zen Community Hub to make wellbeing activities more accessible within local communities, particularly for people who may feel isolated, overwhelmed or unable to access traditional support.

Through my own work, I offer Reiki, yoga, meditation, sound healing, spiritual development and a range of relaxing wellbeing experiences. My approach is warm, inclusive and down-to-earth. I aim to create calm, supportive spaces where people can feel comfortable, connect with others, build confidence and explore practices that support their physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing at a pace that feels right for them.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need any experience of holistic or spiritual practices?

No. These sessions are designed to be accessible to complete beginners as well as people who already have an interest in holistic wellbeing or spiritual development. Everything needed for that month’s activity will be explained during the session.

Is this a spiritual or religious group?

No particular belief system is required. We may explore spiritual-development practices and different holistic ideas, but you are encouraged to approach them with curiosity and decide for yourself what feels useful or meaningful to you.

What will we do each month?

Every month has a different theme. One session might explore managing stress or mindfulness, while another might involve aromatherapy, crystals, journalling, sound instruments, Feng Shui or a seasonal creative activity. The individual date will show exactly what we will be doing before you book.

Do I have to join in with everything?

No. You are always welcome to take part at a level that feels comfortable for you. Some activities may involve discussion, reflection, meditation or practical exercises, but there is no pressure to share personal information or participate in something that does not feel right for you.

Are materials included in the £15 price?

The £15 session price includes what you need to take part in the main activity. Some sessions may also offer optional additional materials or products to purchase. For example, during an aromatherapy spritz workshop the main activity may be included, while extra bottles or additional oils may be available at an extra cost. Any additional charges will be clearly explained in that session’s individual spotlight before you book.

Will these sessions help with stress, anxiety or sleep problems?

Some sessions will explore practical wellbeing techniques that people use to support relaxation, manage everyday stress and develop healthier routines around rest and sleep. These sessions are for general wellbeing and personal development and are not a replacement for medical or psychological treatment.

Can I come on my own?

Absolutely. Many people come to wellbeing groups on their own. Finding Your Zen Community is deliberately designed to be friendly and welcoming, with time to settle in, have a cuppa and meet other people before the session begins.
